FitnessWhat are your current health and fitness goals? Have you considered the option of establishing a career in a field related to those goals? This is an excellent idea if you are naturally drawn to physical fitness, nutrition, or other elements of a healthy lifestyle. Health-related careers are also a good idea if you are trying to start living healthier and need a little motivation to stick to the necessary life changes.

Training Yourself and Others

Personal trainers guide others through exercise sessions to help them reach their health and fitness goals. They may work with individuals in private sessions or small groups in semi-private sessions. Many also lead group exercise classes at gyms and fitness centres so they can make more money in the fitness industry.

Most personal trainers are in excellent physical condition. Clients typically feel more confident trusting a trainer who has done the work to live healthy and keep their bodies in great shape. Many start out in the field while they are in the process of losing weight and making other lifestyle changes. The further they progress toward their own goals, the better qualified they will be to guide others toward their own goals.

Health & fitness education courses designated for personal training careers will teach you everything you need to know about leading others toward greater physical fitness. Most trainers start by earning a basic personal training certificate and then add advanced courses so they are qualified to train with different types of equipment and using different theories of physical fitness.

Group Instructors

Group instructors typically work in gyms or fitness centres, but they may also start their own local classes or work in nursing homes and other businesses. Their job is to lead groups of people through fun exercise routines that deliver weight loss and enhanced mobility results. There are a variety of group classes now being offered, from Zumba and kick-boxing to strength training, yoga, Pilates, and everything in between.

If you enjoy being around others and don?t want to work individually with clients, then this is a great way to have a positive impact on others in your community. Start with your basic health and fitness education. You can earn your personal training certificate and take additional courses in the specific types of exercise you want to teach. There may be other certificate programs available for water fitness and dance inspired classes.

Specialised Education

You don?t need a four-year college degree to get your health and fitness career started. You can go through basic health & fitness education programs to qualify as a personal trainer or group instructor vis HFE. With one short certification program you can acquire enough knowledge to start training private clients if you want to go into business for yourself or make a bit of extra money on the side.

As you guide others toward healthier lives and more attractive bodies, you will lead yourself to make healthier decisions as well. In this way, health careers do mold healthy minds and healthy bodies!
