Full Feeds Service Discontinued

Unfortunatly the time has come for this scraper to come down (seemingly it may come as a shock to some that this is not provided by the BBC). I wrote this back in 2005 and have modified it a couple of times since mainly so that I could more easily consume RSS on the move. In short, I no longer use it, I find consuming live news is not actually something an RSS reader does very well and I face a constant battle against sites trying to use these feeds to monetize BBC content and failing to pay any attention to etag or last modified headers (hello palin-pedia.com et al). Please update your RSS subscription as the last remenants of this will be removed soon , the official BBC RSS feed you are looking for is: http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_uk_edition/front_page/rss.xml

Donald Trump Tells Paul Teutul Sr to Hit the Road

Last night on Celebrity Apprentice, Paul Teutul Sr of ?American Chopper? got chopped when Donald Trump fired him. The task this week was to create a pair of puppets and perform at Brian Henson?s improv show, ?Stuffed and Unstrung.? Paul was the Project Manager for Unanimous while Lisa Lampanelli was PM for Forte. Since Lisa was short two players, Trump sent Clay Aikens to Forte to even the teams out. Ivanka and Eric served as viceroys for this task. Each team had to make two puppets, then put on a an improv show where two members worked the puppets on stage and a third member act as emcee. At Forte, Lisa decided that Clay and she would handle the puppets and leave Penn Jillette free to work the audience as host. Naturally, this left Dayana out of the loop again, who pouted and aired her disappointment at not being allowed to participate more fully. Lisa caved a bit, allowing Dayana to create the puppet that she would be using. Dayana was so good that the folks at Henson?s workshop offered her a job! Over at Unanimous, it was pretty obvious that Paul was well outside his depths with this task. [...]

Sennheiser intros ritzy IE 800 headphones and HDVD 800 amp, your wallet screams

Image
You thought Sennheiser had already done enough to appease audiophiles this year at CES? Think again. The company has announced yet another new set of headphones with an amp to keep it warm at night, but the high-end wares come at a high-end price. The ceramic IE 800 buds (€599 or $787) offer a broad 5 - 46,000 Hz audio range in spite of their mere 7mm drivers, while stainless steel vents on the back supposedly "improve bass and airflow." If you need some extra juice and don't mind forking over the premium €1,499 ($1,973), the HDVD 800 headphone amp's shell is rocking anodized aluminum and a glass window for peering at the bantam circuitry within -- way over the top, but also, pretty amazing. It supports 24-bit 192kHz sources and is engineered for ideal synergy with Senn's HD 800, HD 700, HD 650 and HD 600. Both should hit the shelves by summer of this year.

Alleged ASUS teaser wants us to 'Experience the Infinity,' fails to explain how

Alleged ASUS teaser wants us to 'Experience the Infinity,' fails to explain how
This isn't the first time a mysterious bit of video has come our way with the promise of something new and fabulous from ASUS. The latest such clip comes from a third party, so take it with a hefty pinch of Morton's. It shows some slow motion footage of a drop of water falling into a bigger body of H2O, then a message emerges from the resulting concentric waves telling us to "Experience the Infinity." Whatever that means, it'll be "coming soon" -- next week, apparently, as the video finishes up touting Milano Design Week, which starts on April 17th. Is the video legit? Will some fabulous new device make its mark in Milan? We've no idea, but it certainly has a style similar to other teasers we've seen from the Taiwanese firm. You can make up your own mind once you've watched the vid after the break.

Jon Gosselin: Behind on Child Support?

Jon Gosselin has fallen behind on his child support payments to his ex-wife Kate Gosselin again, according to a tabloid report, to the tune of $3,557.06.

That's far less than the amount Levi Johnston is accused of owing for just one child, but it's enough to mean legal consequences for Jon just the same.

The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 reality star has eight kids he is required to support by law, and the Pennsylvania Dept. of Child Welfare is calling him out.

Gosselin Style

Kate Gosselin seemed blindsided by the fact that Jon was going to go back to court for non-payment of child support after a Twitter follower alerted her.

“I don't know if he's going to court but wouldn't surprise me.... How do you know this stuff?!?” she wrote but quickly stopped engaging the follower:

“Woah....I'm not allowed to talk about orders from the court.…"

Probably smart. Since TLC canned their show, Kate has been working as a blogger for CouponCabin (dot) com while Jon has been working construction.

Their contentious relationship often involves slamming each other on Twitter, but if Jon really does owe back child support, a real battle could erupt.

Facebook Offers starts rolling out, spamming your news feed with coupons
When Facebook first announced Offers you we're probably wondering if there was even room for yet another coupon service. Between Google, Groupon, Yelp, Living Social and countless others we're not entirely sure there's a niche left untapped for Facebook, but that isn't going to stop Zuck and crew from trying. The service is officially rolling out as we speak, and offering its wares to any business with a Facebook page, regardless of size. The hope is that it'll catch on with smaller businesses in particular, which will now have an easy way to place deals directly into user's news feeds. Of course, after the failure of Facebook Deals, you'd be forgiven for assuming this experiment is doomed from moment one. Check out the video after the break and the source link for more details.

Leaked internal screen suggests April 20 launch for Rogers HTC One X

Leaked screen (source: MobileSyrup)

Here's some (potential) good news for Canadian smartphone buyers watching developments in Europe with eager eyes. Rogers may be launching the LTE version of the HTC One X -- that's the one known internationally as the HTC One XL -- as early as next Friday. A leaked internal screen obtained by MobileSyrup ?shows a release date of April 20 for HTC's Snapdragon S4-powered, 4.7-inch LTE-guzzling beast. An imminent release shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, as pre-orders are currently being taken, with prices starting at C$169.99 on the standard 3-year Canadian contract.

The quad-core HSPA+ version of the One X is out now in Europe, and the dual-core LTE version is expected to arrive stateside early next month. To get an idea of what to expect, be sure to check out our full review of the European version.
